Murder acquittal at the Old Bailey

Two defendants were acquitted of murder at the Old Bailey.

One of the defendants, Romaine Williams-Reid, was represented by Brenda Campbell QC and Stella Harris of Garden Court. They were instructed by Aika Stephenson of Just For Kids Law.

Three teenagers were on trial for murder of a 15-year-old boy after allegedly setting out to attack members of the "Red Pitch" gang. 

One of the defendants, a 15-year-old boy, was found guilty of murder. A 16-year-old boy and Romaine Williams-Reid, 18, were both acquitted and convicted of manslaughter. A fourth defendant, Caden Stewart, 16, became unwell and died in custody on 27 June, 20 days after being charged with murder.

The sentencing will take place on 24 January.
