Richard Reynolds will be junior counsel to Dexter Dias QC in the inquest into the death of Cherry Groce, which is due to start on Monday 30 June.
Richard and Dexter will be acting for the family of Cherry Groce, a mother who was shot in her bedroom by the Metropolitan Police, an event that triggered the 1985 Brixton Riots. The Groce family's battle for legal aid involved a public petition that was signed by over 100,000 fellow citizens. Funding for junior counsel was granted following a Pre-Inquest Review on 17 June, the first at which the family had legal representation.
Richard and Dexter are working with Mark Scott and Clare Richardson of Bhatt Murphy. The family is also supported by Deb Coles of INQUEST.
