Public hearings for UK core decision-making and political governance in Wales, held in Cardiff, began on 27 February 2024.

In the first week of hearings, on 28 February, Kirsten questioned Professor Emmanuel Ogbonna of Cardiff University. 

She later questioned Professor Sally Holland, Former Children's Commissioner for Wales.

On 1 March, Kirsten questioned Dr Chris Williams, Consultant Epidemiologist at Public Health Wales.

For week 2 of hearings, on 4 March, Kirsten questioned Sir Frank Atherton, Chief Medical Adviser for Wales.

Kirsten later questioned Dr Rob Orford, Chief Scientific Adviser for Health.

On 4 March, Kirsten questioned Dr Chris Llewelyn, Chief Executive of the Welsh Local Government Association.

She later questioned Reg Kilpatrick, Director General of the Covid Recovery and Local Government Group.

On 5 March, Bethan Harris questioned Dr Andrew Goodall CBE, Permanent Secretary of the Welsh Government.

On 7 March, Kirsten questioned Jane Runeckles, Head of the Welsh Government's team of Special Advisers.

She later questioned Toby Mason, Head of Strategic Communications for the Welsh Government.

Kirsten also questioned Rt Hon Simon Hart MP for Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire.
