20 February is World Day of Social Justice. Social justice is an underlying principle for peaceful and prosperous coexistence within and among nations. The theme for 2018 was: ‘Workers on the Move: the Quest for Social Justice’.
To mark the occasion, Garden Court Chambers hosted a presentation with an exhibition of photos on behalf of The Peace and Hope Trust.
Social justice is an underlying principle for a peaceful and prosperous coexistence within and among nations. The Peace and Hope Trust is a UK based charity who have been working among the poor communities of Nicaragua for over two decades. Their project work, for example, includes working with local community leaders to identify sustainable building projects (for example, schools), transporting aid by shipping container in the hope of alleviating hardship, and promoting the various uses of Moringa, a fast growing and highly nutritious plant which has many practical, beneficial uses.
