The U.S Supreme Court ruled on Thursday that President George W. Bush overstepped his authority in ordering military war crimes trials for Guantanamo Bay detainees.

In its ruling, the court said military tribunals contravened both the Geneva Convention on the treatment of prisoners, and the US code of military justice.

The ruling came in response to a case bought by Salim Ahmed Hamdan, who was Osama Bin Laden's ex-driver

Mark Muller was part of the pro bono team representing Salim Ahmed Hamdan.
