Two protestors who squatted a residential flat in protest at Camden Council's sale of council houses have been acquitted at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court.
The pair were charged with the offence of Squatting in a Residential Building under s144 LASPOA 2012. However, the property was occupied on a rota basis with no individual "living" there. The judge upheld a submission of no case to answer due to insufficient evidence of trespass.
One of the defendants was represented by Owen Greenhall. He was instructed by Mike Schwarz of Bindmans LLP.
