Tom Wainwright, Owen Greenhall, Susan Wright and Audrey Cherryl Mogan of the Garden Court Protest Team represented six of the defendants, instructed by Lydia Dagostino of Kellys Solicitors.
Following a five-week trial, ten members of the ‘Beyond Politics’ protest group were acquitted of three conspiracies to cause criminal damage after throwing pink paint over a number of charities and political parties’ headquarters and conspiring to do the same to trade unions.
The defendants carried out the action in order to prompt the organisations in question to take stronger, more urgent action in relation to the climate catastrophe and in the belief that, if the NGOs, parties and trade unions were fully aware of all the circumstances, they would consent to the damage taking place.
