Southern Cross Media, parent company of 2Day FM will be represented by Maya Sikand at the inquest into the death of Nurse Jacintha Saldhana in May this year. The company has been granted properly interested person status.
Maya Sikand, told the hearing "Everyone will know and in particular know the level of media attention that my client's radio station has attracted. There has reportedly been much public anger not just against the individuals but against the station as well in this tragedy." She went on to say the company had made 'a number of public statements and apologies' and what transpired were 'unforeseen' and "entirely unintended" consequences.
Maya Sikand is a member of Garden Court Chamers Inquests Team.
