Kathryn Cronin of Garden Court Chambers has been confirmed as one of the speakers at the JUSTICE's Lisbon Treaty conference.

The conference will explore the important changes that the Treaty makes to EU law, and the impacts on UK law and procedure. Kathryn's session will focus on the sensitive topic of children and domestic abuse, and will examine:

  • The Stockholm Programme's particular focus on the rights of the child and women
  • The proposed measures for reducing abuse and exploitation of trafficked women and children
  • Problems in the enforcement of domestic violence injunctions imposed in another member state and the advantages of the initiative for a European Protection Order in providing a solution
