Kate Aubrey-Johnson appointed to Michael Sieff Working Group on SEND, Neurodivergence & Youth Justice

We are delighted to announce that Kate Aubrey-Johnson of the Garden Court Children's Rights Team has been appointed to the Michael Sieff Working Group on SEND, Neurodivergence & Youth Justice.

In 2023, The Michael Sieff Foundation set-up a Working Group on Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND), Neurodivergence and Youth Justice to examine what arrangements could be proposed for the reform of the Youth Justice System for children with SEND and neurodivergence.

The Working Group is accepting written submissions to their Call for Evidence until 5pm on 15 March 2024.

Kate is a youth justice expert, author and leading mediator. As a child rights specialist, criminal and public lawyer she regularly advises on issues affecting children in the criminal justice system and has an extensive mediation practice. She works to ensure lawyers have the specialist skills and expertise to represent children. 

Kate is co-author of the leading textbook Youth Justice Law and Practice (LAG, 2019). She is a youth justice expert and is regularly called upon to give lectures and deliver training. She is a convenor of the Garden Court Children's Rights Team.
