Barristers at Garden Court have strongly rejected proposals from the Legal Service Commission to implement cuts in the Specialist Support Contract funding for direct casework referrals, access and training for Law Centres and other providers in the third sector. In a clear and unequivocal response to the LSC public consultation which ended on 10 September, the paper provides clear evidence that the opportunity for barristers' chambers to be Specialist Support Service providers should be retained, and they should be able to participate as a wholly 2nd tier agency. The full text of Garden Court's evidence is provided here.
