Garden Court Chambers is a large and dynamic Barristers' Chambers with a team of staff who provide the clerking, financial, marketing and administrative support for nearly 200 barristers. We are a diverse set, specialising in all aspects of human rights and social welfare law, including crime, family law, housing, immigration, and civil law. We are based in a Grade 1 listed building in Lincoln's Inn Fields, close to Holborn tube station and a range of shops, bars and restaurants.

Due to internal promotions  we now have a vacancy within the Crime clerking team, for a Junior Crime Practice Assistant.

The post requires good organisational and administrative skills and a good telephone manner. Daily tasks of a Junior Crime Practice Assistant at Garden Court Chambers are wide ranging and interesting.  We deal with very high profile cases so confidentiality is imperative within this role.  Computer literacy and accuracy are essential. 

SALARY, BENEFITS AND TERMS AND CONDITIONS
• The salary is £23,000 pa.
• Hours: 09:00 to 17:30 or 9:30 to 18:00 Monday to Friday.
• Holidays: 25 days per annum pro rata (plus bank holidays). 
• Interest-free loan for travel card (following successful completion of probation)
• Pension. 
• The successful applicant will be required to sign an undertaking of confidentiality.
