We are inviting applications for a Events & Communications Assistant to join Garden Court Chambers.

Events & Communications Assistant Duties

  • Assisting the marketing team in promoting chambers through high-quality marketing communications with an emphasis on innovation and continuous improvement via social media channels and email marketing, focusing on Facebook and Instagram.
  • Assisting the marketing team in delivering marketing reports, practice review meeting and key client meeting reports for chambers and practice teams.
  • Assisting in maintaining and updating the Garden Court website content, ensuring high-quality copy, including key pages, such as practice team pages, barrister profiles and event pages.
  • Working with HCM to manage and publicise events. Maintaining the events list spreadsheet, ensuring all information is up to date. Ensuring all events appear in the relevant barristers’ diaries and staff outlook diaries.
  • Delivering events online and in chambers; coordinating setup, wrap-up & follow up, including assisting the marketing team with editing event recordings & event emails.
  • Delivering well-targeted and high-quality email marketing, including assisting on producing internal and external newsletters.
  • Assisting in proofing submissions for the legal directories.
  • Assisting the marketing team in promoting rankings and awards through all relevant marketing channels.
  • Assisting with Client Relationship Management (CRM) migration project.
  • Assisting with other administrative and proofing tasks for the marketing team.
  • Feeding into reports to measure the reach and impact of Garden Court marketing activities.

Person Specification (skills, experience and competencies required in this post)

ESSENTIAL:

  • Graduate study (or equivalent educational attainment)
  • Experience in marketing and communications activities.
  • Experience working or volunteering for charity, NGO or public policy organisation aligned to our values and areas of law (see website).
  • Demonstrable support of our values of respect for human rights and commitment to social justice.
  • Experience of organising and arranging online and in-person events.
  • Experience of editing and/or writing interesting and engaging copy for marketing channels.
  • Excellent standard of oral and written English with the ability to proof read to exacting standards.
  • Media savvy and politically astute with an interest in current affairs.
  • Resourceful with the ability to work independently.
  • Capable of multi-tasking and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to work flexibly to ensure that events are covered (this includes occasional evenings, for which time off is given).

Desirable:

  • Demonstrable experience of managing and growing social media accounts.
  • Experience working with CRM systems and/or email marketing and social media scheduling tools.

Salary, Benefits and Terms and Conditions:

  • This positions attracts a salary of £25,700.
  • Hours: 9.00-17.30 or 09:30-18:00 Monday-Friday.
  • Three days in our Lincoln’s Inn Fields office and two days working remotely.
  • Holidays: 25 days per annum pro rata (excluding bank holidays but including three days between Christmas and New Year).
  • Interest-free loan for travel card (after probation).
  • Pension, including a 5% employer's contribution after six months, and income-protection schemes.
  • Free use of gym equipment.
