Garden Court Chambers is a large and dynamic Barristers' Chambers with a team of staff who provide the clerking, financial, marketing and administrative support for nearly 200 barristers. We are a diverse set, specialising in all aspects of human rights and social welfare law, including crime, family law, housing, immigration, and civil law. We are based in a Grade 1 listed building in Lincoln's Inn Fields, close to Holborn tube station and a range of shops, bars and restaurants.
We now have a vacancy within the Crime clerking team, for a Crime Team Practice Manager.
The post requires good organisational and administrative skills and a good telephone manner. Daily tasks of a Crime Practice Manager at Garden Court Chambers are wide ranging and interesting. We deal with very high profile cases so confidentiality is imperative within this role. Experience in troubleshooting diaries and members’ practice development at a similar level or responsibility are essential. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years experience in Criminal Clerking.
SALARY, BENEFITS AND TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- The salary is £40,000
- Hours: 09:00 to 17.30 (or 9.30-18.00) Monday to Friday
- Holidays: 25 days per annum pro rata (plus bank holidays)
- Interest-free loan for travel card (following successful completion of probation)
- Pension
