The 14th Tsunami Reception is in remembrance of the untold victims and the worst catastrophe in living memory in Sri Lanka.
On the 26th December 2004, over 40,000 lives were lost and unimaginable horror unleashed on thousands of people.
The Sri Lankan Lawyers (UK) Tsunami Appeal raised funds in the immediate aftermath to support the victims of that tragedy in Sri Lanka irrespective of race or creed.
They have each year since then continued to support a number of projects in Sri Lanka:
- Education of children;
- Law books in public libraries;
- Medical equipment for victims of chronic kidney failure and children suffering from cancer.
