The proposed removals to Rwanda raise fundamental issues regarding access to justice and the UK’s respect for the international legal order. Garden Court’s immigration and public law teams have been at the heart of the legal actions brought to ensure fair play.

Garden Court speakers Sonali Naik QCMark SymesGreg Ó Ceallaigh and Eva Doerr discussed the lawfulness of the system for removals to Rwanda.

Key provisions of the Nationality and Borders Act 2022 are now entering force - including new substantive law and provisions governing international protection.

Meanwhile, new Immigration Rules will reform the procedures for asylum and humanitarian protection claims introducing restrictions on family reunion rights and enforcing the differential rights afforded to refugees, depending on their route to the UK and their asylum claim's timing. Practitioners also face new Rules governing ILR on the 10-year partner and parent routes.

Garden Court speakers Adrian Berry and Eva Doerr provided expert analysis on these new provisions and rules.
