This seminar will explore the scope for defending possession proceedings, brought by public authorities and social landlords, where the occupier has no legal right to remain in occupation. The speakers will examine how a challenge to the decision to bring the proceedings can be raised by the occupier in the county court so as to defeat the claim. (The seminar will not deal with special issues relating to claims against Gypsies and other Travellers.)
