Hussain joined Garden Court Chambers in December 2023 and he supports barristers in their Public Access work.

Background

Hussain obtained a first-class LLB from Queen Mary University of London. Throughout his undergraduate studies, Hussain volunteered at the Queen Mary Legal Advice Centre as a support team member, legal adviser and street law presenter. His advisory role involved interviewing vulnerable clients on sensitive matters, conducting legal research, and drafting letters of advice.

Hussain completed the bar course at City Law School as a Middle Temple Harmsworth scholar. Whilst studying, Hussain worked as a caseworker at the Islamophobia Response Unit, providing legal advice to, and advocating for, victims of Islamophobic hate crime and discrimination. His work focused on tackling discrimination in employment and education settings, often collaborating with civil liberty organisations such as the European Legal Support Center.

Hussain has also held research positions at organisations such as the British Institute of Human Rights, Zahid Mubarek Trust, and the Institute of Race Relations.

In his free time, Hussain is a mentor at Young Bar Mentoring; he has assisted aspiring barristers from disadvantaged backgrounds successfully obtain Inn scholarships to fund their Bar course studies.
