The two defendants were acquitted of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life following a trial at the Old Bailey.

The shooting took place at 4pm in the afternoon in North London, in what the Prosecution claimed was a targeted and planned ‘hit’. The incident was captured on CCTV and showed the shot being fired from the first defendant’s vehicle, while the second defendant was alleged to have acted as lookout and blocked traffic to allow the gunman to escape the scene.

Not Guilty verdicts were returned on all counts in just over an hour.

James Scobie QC and Tom Wainwright are members of the Garden Court Chambers Criminal Defence Team
