Scion Fogah-Brown was on trial for murder and possession of a firearm following the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Chleve Massi at a friend’s birthday party on the thirteenth floor of Sark tower on 1 February 2015. It was alleged that Scion Fogah-Brown shot Chleve Massi with a semi automatic pistol as he and his friends entered the party. Mr Massi couldn't move and was taken downstairs by the people he came with.

The prosecution stated that within a minute the deceased and his group were chased down by Mr Fogah-Brown and his associates and there was a further fire fight outside the block of flats where bullets hit the car Mr Massi was in. The prosecution ballistic expert stated that at least three and up to five firearms were discharged. It was alleged that the shooting was gang related but Mr Fogah-Brown denied this and that he was a member of a gang.

Scion Fogah-Brown argued that another man opened fire and killed Chleve Massi. Scion was found guilty of possession of a firearm and violent disorder, but not guilty of murder.

Keir Montieth was led by Dexter Dias QC and was instructed by Guven Ates from Morgan Has Solicitors.

Keir and Dexter are members of the Garden Court Chambers Criminal Defence Team.
