DEPUTY IMMIGRATION PRACTICE MANAGER
6 Months Fixed Term, with possibility of extension.

Garden Court Chambers is a large and dynamic Barristers’ Chambers with a team of staff who provide the clerking, financial, marketing and administrative support for over 190 barristers. We are a diverse set, specialising in all aspects of human rights and social welfare law, including crime, family law, housing, immigration, and civil law. We are based in a Grade 1 listed building in Lincoln’s Inn Fields, close to Holborn tube station and a range of shops, bars and restaurants.

We now have a vacancy within the Immigration Law Practice Team – Deputy Immigration Practice Manager, for a period of 6 months with the possibility of an extension.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and conscientious person to assist and support our Immigration Practice Team. The successful candidate will have experience in either solicitors’ firm or within a Barristers’ Chambers, ideally in dealing with immigration cases.

The post requires good organisational and administrative skills, and excellent interpersonal skills and telephone manner.

This post would suit candidates from paralegal, clerking, business development or other similar backgrounds.

SALARY, BENEFITS AND TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • This position attracts a salary of circa £35,000 pa, plus a range of staff benefits.
  • Hours: 9.00 to 18:00 Monday to Friday, with one hour for lunch
  • Holidays: 25 days per annum pro rata (plus bank holidays)
  • Interest-free season ticket

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT 

Reporting to: Head of Operations and HR

Summary

Garden Court Chambers is one of the largest and most successful barristers’ chambers in the UK. We are recognised as leaders in civil liberties, housing, immigration, family and public law and criminal defence. Due to continued growth and expansion we are now looking to recruit for two Administrative Assistant.

This is an important role offering administrative support to all our clerking teams and will include the following:

  • Dealing with all the incoming and outgoing post
  • Delivering papers to/from court and other chambers
  • Assisting with copying and scanning of document bundles

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Good team player
  • Proactive and willing to take initiative,
  • “Can do” attitude,
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs at A-C level (including English and Maths)

Terms and Conditions:
