Garden Court Chambers organises three mini-pupillage courses each year. The first is held in February, the second in June and the third in September/October. On each occasion we take 8 – 10 mini-pupils.
On each day of the course, mini-pupils are offered the opportunity to attend court or other hearings, to work on legal research in Chambers and attend conferences. Early evening de-briefing sessions are organised and followed up with a variety of workshops and lectures. It is expected that mini-pupils will attend the whole week.
We are sorry to say our June Mini Pupillage Week has been cancelled.
Our next mini pupillage week will be held in October, during the week starting Monday 2 October 2017, for which the application window is now OPEN. The deadline for all applications is Monday 17 July 2017 . If you wish to apply, please click here to be taken to the application form.
We aim to let only successful applicants know of the outcome of their application by 31 July 2017.
Please note that we cannot let unsuccessful applicants know of the outcome of their application quite simply because of the large number of applications we receive during each opening.
Unfortunately, Garden Court Chambers is not able to offer any placements outside of these dates and only applications made using the online form on our website will be considered. All applications will be sent to a member of the Pupillage Committee for review. They will select the successful candidates and provide a list of reserves.
Our mini pupillage weeks are intended purely for work experience and are only available to persons over 18 years of age. The criteria used for assessing mini pupillage applications are different from those applied to pupillage. We do not require potential pupils to have completed a mini pupillage with Garden Court Chambers.
If you have any queries regarding mini pupillage, please e-mail
We aim to offer mini-pupillages to those who share our commitment to human rights, social justice and equality and to those who would benefit the most from the experience.
Garden Court Chambers has not yet allocated dates for any other future Mini Pupillage Weeks.
Work experience placements are open to students in full-time education under the age of 18. All work experience placements are one week long, and will involve shadowing various barristers to court and assisting them.
Please note that work experience placements for 2017 are now closed. To apply please send your CV and cover letter to the email address below.
If you submitted an application for work experience in 2017, unfortunately we will be in contact with you only if your application was successful.
Please note that Chambers does not offer work experience placements in the months of February, June, August and September.
Months currently still open for work experience in 2017: all places have been allocated.
