Garden Court Chambers is a large and dynamic Barristers' Chambers with a team of staff who provide the clerking, financial, marketing and administrative support for over 190 barristers. We are a diverse set, specialising in all aspects of human rights and social welfare law, including crime, family law, housing, immigration, and civil law. We are based in a Grade 1 listed building in Lincoln's Inn Fields, close to Holborn tube station and a range of shops, bars and restaurants.

We now have a vacancy within the Family Law Practice Team – Junior Family Law Team Practice Assistant.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and conscientious person to join the Family Clerking Team in assisting with the continued success and growth of the Family Team within Chambers. Ideally, you will have at least 2 years of clerking experience.

The post requires good organisational and administrative skills, a good telephone manner and excellent attention to detail. You will see from the job description that the daily tasks of a  Junior Practice Assistant to the Family Team at Garden Court are wide-ranging and interesting.  We deal with very high profile cases so confidentiality is imperative within this role.  This is a growing team and there is good scope for professional development.

SALARY, BENEFITS AND TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Salary £25,000 pa, plus a range of staff benefits.
  • Hours: 9.00 to 17.30 or 9.30 to 18.00 Monday to Friday.
  • Holidays: 25 days per annum (plus bank holidays)
  • Interest-free loan for travel card
  • The successful applicant will be required to sign an undertaking of confidentiality.
