Background
Celia was originally a criminal practitioner and had strong links with some black organisations that were active in the early and mid-1980s: The Black Prisoners Welfare Scheme, the Organisation for Women of African and Asian Descent, and Grassroots Bookshops. Celia was also involved in a number of campaigns. Between 1987 and 1993, Celia taught in Nicaragua and Guadeloupe. She returned to Chambers in 1993. Since then she has developed an exclusively family practice.
Celia has four children and lives in London.
