As the Home Office continues to increase the use of immigration detention and enforced removal for 'failed asylum seekers' and others, reports of abuse, illegality and procedural impropriety are on the increase. More lawyers and caseworkers are needed to help challenge shameful practices and hold those responsible to account.
Those with experience in immigration and asylum, prison law or civil actions against the police may find that attending one or more of these seminars may help them consider taking up cases to support this increasingly disenfranchised group of clients.
PART TWO: A Practical guide to private law litigation
Aimed primarily at immigration and asylum lawyers and others with limited private law expertise.
Fees £25 per session or £60 for all three courses.
Campaigners, be-frienders and others who support immigration detainees are welcome to attend as observers for a nominal fee of £10 per session or £25 for three.
We will require payment by cheque upon registration before the start of the seminar.
CPD Hours: 3
Speakers: Harriet Wistrich, Birnberg Pierce Solicitors & Mark Scott, Bhatt Murphy Solicitors
