Practice

Sharon has a specialist family practice, with a particular focus on children and child protection work (both public and private.) She is a tough advocate who fights hard for the client.

Her instructions include acting for parents and children (both through their guardian and in situations where the child needs separate representation) and the Local authority. She prides herself at being able to put the client at ease whilst not loosing track of the real issues in the case and at the same time giving realistic advice.

Sharon is an experienced and successful negotiator. She is a fully accredited mediator who is able to mediate all issues arising out of a family dispute. She is able to empower her clients to ensure they always put their voice across and have the fairest of hearings.
Her criminal background has equipped Sharon to be a robust cross-examiner; she has an excellent analytical approach and is always thoroughly prepared to fight her corner. Sharon is keen to develop her practice where there is a cross over between criminal and family work.

Sharon also has a particular interest in cases with an immigration dimension having practised in this area for several years before specialising in family law. She is passionate about human rights and believes in justice for all.

She has a wide range of experience dealing with cases where there has been physical and sexual abuse, history of domestic violence and clients with mental health problems.

Background

Sharon undertook a general common law pupillage. She decided to specialise in family law in 2003. Before coming to the Bar Sharon taught people with learning difficulties. She also worked for a busy high street solicitors office specialising in family and crime.
