Rob Littlewood
PracticeRob has a specialist family practice, with a particular emphasis on children and child protection work. Rob has considerable experience in all aspects of children law, including Public and Private law proceedings, Adoption and Child Abduction. He has experience of case management and strategic planning in cases at all judicial levels. An increasing number of Rob's cases have a direct cross-over with criminal trials and the immigration and administrative courts. He has extensive experience of the appeal process; most recently in Re S (Children) [2007] EWCA Civ 1430 In recent years Rob's practice has involved cases with complex medical evidence, infant deaths, sexual abuse and cases involving vulnerable parents with complex mental health profiles. Rob has been involved in a number of cases where one parent has caused the death of either the other parent or a child. He has represented a number of mothers with Factitious Illness Disorder. Although Rob has represented all parties in cases involving children, in recent years he has developed a particular expertise in the representation of children and vulnerable adults. He has therefore established relationships with a number of Children's Guardians and has frequently worked for the Official Solicitor and NSPCC. Rob has acted for both parents and children through Rule 9.5 Guardians in a number of intractable contact cases. Rob has also represented a number of interveners in cases involving non-accidental injuries. Other activitiesRob has extensive experience of legal advice work and teaching. He has worked as an advisor to a Law Centre and to a number of voluntary groups. SocietiesRob is a member of the Association of Lawyers for Children, The FLBA, The Haldane Society, and Liberty.
