Ravinder Rahal

Ravinder currently specialises in representing parents and children in care proceedings in cases involving physical, emotional and sexual abuse, neglect and alleged non -accidental injuries.

Practice

Ravinder's practice was originally a mixed one, comprising criminal and family law, but she has specialised in family law for the last 15 years. Ravinder's family work now comprises of public law with expertise in care proceedings.  She represents mainly parents and children.

Background

After qualifying as a barrister, Ravinder did a postgraduate law degree specialising in research into the relationship between the police and the black community in Britain. She also worked in a law centre as a case worker in immigration cases.  This involved developing campaign work regarding deportation cases.

Other activities

Ravinder was the vice-chair of an Asian women's refuge and member of the management committee for a Young Black Women's Development Project.   She is also a member of the Family Law Bar Association.
