PracticeHelen is a specialist criminal defence practitioner with a broad range of jury trial experience in cases of murder (led junior), serious violence, sexual offences, blackmail, fraud, firearms offences, arson and offences of dishonesty. Helen has lead in multi-handed cases of conspiracy involving drugs and robberies. Helen has particular experience in the sympathetic representation of mentally disordered offenders including fitness to plead issues and brings this approach to assist more vulnerable defendants generally in the trial process Helen also undertakes the representation of families at inquests, particularly where the death occurs in custody. Judicial review arising from criminal proceedings also forms part of her practice. Additionally, Helen has been an advocacy trainer for pupils at Middle Temple for over ten years and in 2008 qualified as a mediator.
