For the past five years, campaigners have been occupying privately-owned derelict land in the area blighted by Heathrow expansion proposals

Working with the local community, Grow Heathrow have established a community garden and activity centre on the land and many members of the collective live on the site.

At Uxbridge County Court today, a claim for possession brought by one of the landowners (Lewdown Holdings Ltd) which should have been heard last September was deferred again, after one of the occupiers put in a detailed defence raising his human rights to respect for his home (Article 8), freedom of expression (Article 10) and freedom to assemble with others (Article 11) under the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR).

The trial will now not take place until late May 2015 - at the earliest - enabling the campaigners to hold their 5th Anniversary Celebration on 1 March 2015 and raise their Spring crops.

The named defendant is represented by Jan Luba QC, instructed by Leigh Day solicitors.
